It will pay out if you get one of the specific medical conditions or injuries listed on the policy. Most policies will also pay out if you are permanently disabled as a result of injury or illness. It only pays out once and then the policy ends. The policy will also specify how serious the condition must be. Examples of critical illnesses are:
- Heart attack.
- Multiple sclerosis.
Can I choose what’s best for me?
Yes it’s up to you what type of insurance you feel suits you. This could differ in terms of length and times. And might involve working out how long it would take to pay off your mortgage if a claim were made.
How much does Life Insurance cost?
In recent years the many forms ofhave become competitively priced. If you have a life policy which is several years old you may be able to change your provider for a more competitive premium, or to increase the benefit for the same monthly cost. It’s really difficult to give a figure on life insurance without a proper quote. It can be as little as £10 a month, but for more comprehensive cover it could be over £30 a month. This will depend on your circumstances.
