The Financial Services Compensation Scheme has released its latest roundup of financial firms now officially placed in default, which includes both Shropshire-based Financial Page and Merseyside firm Henderson Carter Associates. According to the FCA’s register, both had appointed representative relationships with London lead generator Hennessy Jones.
Dated April 20, the report lists a total of 19 firms from all over the country that may now be in the firing line in terms of compensation claims. In order to be placed in default, the firm must have had a minimum of one claim brought against it via the FSCS, after which it comes down to the authority to make its decision based on evidence available.
“Consumers could be in line for compensation after FSCS declares 19 firms in default Consumers could get back money they have lost as a result of their dealings with any of the 19 failed financial firms (listed below) the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) has declared in default,” wrote the FSCS.
“A declaration of default means FSCS is satisfied a firm is unable to pay claims for compensation made against it. This paves the way for customers of that firm to make a claim for compensation. Since its inception in 2001, FSCS has helped more than 4.5m people, paying out more than £26bn in compensation.”
Some of the others finding their way onto the latest list include Yorkshire firm Advanced Wealth Management Limited, Colchester’s Cavendish Financial Planning Limited and Leeds based Vanguard Wealth Management Limited.
“FSCS protects consumers around the UK when authorised financial services firms go bust. It protects your deposits, investments, home finance and insurance, and it’s free for consumers to use. Anyone who believes they may be owed money as a result of their dealings with any of these firms should get in touch. We may be able to help you,” said Mark Oakes, Head of Communications at FSCS.
The FSCS is advising anyone in need of advice to get in touch as soon as possible, either through its main website or by calling the Customer Services Team on 0800 678 1100 or 020 7741 4100. Alternatively, email enquiries can be directed at firstname.lastname@example.org.
